One of the world’s greatest exponents of bel canto (beautiful singing), Sumi Jo, will perform in a thrilling programme entitled Mad for Love.

She will be partnered by dashing Argentine born José Carbó, now one of Australia’s best loved baritones. Together they will ignite the stage with renditions of the most passionate repertoire from opera and operetta, as well as tango, and meltingly beautiful folk song from Sumi Jo’s native Korea.

Described by the legendary maestro Herbert von Karajan as having “a voice from above”, Sumi Jo is one of the most in demand singers on the international stage.

Her astonishing vocal technique and purity of tone captivate audiences, as do her many exquisite dresses, adding to the glamour of the concert.

This will be an unparalleled night of romance which will live long in the memory of all who attend.

“Not only is she the most famous and loved voice of South Korea but a true heroine of the ‘Land of Morning Calm’; Sumi Jo is an extraordinary artist who has contributed to the history of interpretation. She is a wonderful Lady of opera who continues to amaze and portray beauty. A superb woman on stage and in life; she is sensitive, kind, cultured, sophisticated yet genuine.

I have been a fan of hers since the start and after having had the honour of performing a duet with her again last year at the wonderful Colosseum in Rome, I am proud to perform with her again during my concert. Because Sumi inevitably gets into the heart of anyone who is lucky enough to listen to her voice.” – Andrea Bocelli
